This paper tells of a farmer family, they lived in historic center of Naples. They disappear after build a new highway, a orbital road called Tangenziale S.P.A. Urban highways were justified by with some form of cost-benefitanalysis. But analysis ignored important secondary effects, such as the adverse impact of the new road on surrounding property values, or the environmental costs that are generated by new induced traffic. The community’s life changes forever, they become workers in new flats. The Flats was builting where they had farmland and pastures.
