EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CALLUS FORMATION IN TIMOTHY ON SELECTIVE MEDIA

Abstract

Common timothy of Mechta cultivar was put into in vitro culture for producing the callus resistant to contamination with engine oil. For this purpose, explants of mature embryos were cultured on selective medium. The frequency of callus formation was 24,4 %. The selected samples of callus are suitable for further work on the regeneration of transformed plants of timothy grass.
