Panstrongylus geniculatus is one of the mostwidely distributed species of Triatominae in Southand Central America, occurring in several biomeswith different climatic characteristics. We presentthe results of captures of P. geniculatus providedfrom a 10-year program of entomologicalsurveillance in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. We also present an updated geographicdistribution map of P. geniculatus obtained froman extensive literature review. The entomologicalsurveillance program, between 1996 and 2005,provided 110 capture registers of P. geniculatus inEspírito Santo. These are the first records of P.geniculatus from 15 municipalities in this state. P.geniculatus extends through 18 countries inCentral and South America, from southernMexico to northern Argentina.
