A colocação pronominal na literatura brasileira do século XIX

Abstract

This paper describes some aspects of clitic pronoun placement in the 19th century literary Brazilian Portuguese. This description is then compared with today's Brazilian Portuguese and 19th century European Portuguese. We find that the clitic pronoun placement of 19th century Brazilian literature shows more resemblance to European Portuguese than to the Brazilian Portuguese of the late 20th century.
