Intraocular pressure, which can cause glaucoma, is found to be affected by nocturnal sympathetic noradrenaline, which inhibits phagocytosis in trabecular meshwork cells through β1-aderenergic receptor mediated cAMP-EPAC-SHIP1 activation.
