Objective To explore the effect of application of standardized nursing program in transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Methods A total of 395 patients who underwent TEE examination in our department from September 2019 to February 2020 were enrolled and assigned into the control group and received routine nursing. Another 479 patients receiving TEE examination from March to August 2020 were assigned into the observation group, and standardized nursing was implemented. Patient's satisfaction, success rate and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the 2 groups. Results The satisfaction rate of patients was significantly improved (P < 0.01), and the incidence of adverse reactions was significantly reduced in the observation group (P < 0.01). The success rate of TEE examination was similar, and no serious complications such as esophageal perforation and massive bleeding were observed in the 2 groups. Conclusion Implementation of standardized nursing plan during TEE examination is of great significance to improve patient's satisfaction and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
