Composition of parliamentary committees and their specializations

Abstract

The importance of parliamentary committees and means of developing their work:The powers of the Parliament are essential elements in the political and constitutional life of all democratic systems because this institution has important functions that differ according to the different political systems prevailing in the world. In view of the critical functions of the parliaments of the world, such as legislative, supervisory, financial and judicial, they require a strong momentum and work, and great efforts to increase their effectiveness and expertise.Parliamentary committees play a key role in accomplishing many of the functions of parliaments around the world. It should be noted here that each parliament is made up of a large number of members, which makes it difficult to accomplish its tasks, whether legislative, supervisory or otherwise, in public meetings. This can lead to debates and speeches in public meetings which are not feasible. In addition, the world's parliaments generally resort to the formation of committees to study and prepare their work from members of limited numbers, specialists or who have an interest in a branch of state or community activity.
