ABSTRACT In patients with severe refractory immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), especially those unable to receive blood transfusions due to religious beliefs, alternative non‐cytotoxic therapies are important to avoid worsening cytopenias. Immunomodulatory agents such as mycophenolate mofetil and daratumumab should be used alongside traditional therapies including steroids, IVIG and rituximab.
