Bibliometria e Análise de Redes Sociais: Possibilidades Metodológicas para a Psicologia Social da Ciência

Abstract

In this article, we aimed to present the contributions and limitations of Bibliometry and Social Network Analysis(SNA) to a Social Psychology of Science. We analyzed essays on these methodologies and we concluded thatbibliometry and SNA are very useful to put in practice a critical Social Psychology of Science because they allow usto understand the power relations of a scientific field, to identify the invisible colleges and to present graphically thedifferent relations among the actors of a scientific discipline. In doing so, they allow us to understand science as acollective phenomenon which guides our view of the world and of ourselves as well as our professional practice.
