Abstract

Ecological conservation is a new concept that has been spoken of by people around the world in recent times. Today, the Janasabha is working on new objectives for environmental protection and disaster prevention. Tamil literature points out that human society has realized the necessity of the environment since the beginning of time and has been producing food products according to the land, and water bodies. In ancient times, the living environment of the agricultural people was independent. Agricultural workers lived by giving material they owned to others and not by taking material from others. Today, due to various variations in ecology and the declining quality of food production, people are exposed to various risks and stress. Mainly the impact of disease is increasing. Many ideas about agriculture are found in the work “Natrinai”. The main objective of this article is to present and explain the feelings of people about different landscapes, agriculture in five types of land, planting, irrigation technique, land processing, specialty of plowing, animal husbandry etc. Man can live without information technology but cannot survive without food. This article also expresses the true sentiments that the Tamils were the ones who discovered many scientific methods for food production during the Sangam period itself.
