O Escudo Guianês: um patrimônio natural para preservar

Abstract

The work reflects on the Guiana Shield as natural heritage to be preserved in a process driven by international cooperation between Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela in the protecting of a transboundery property. Among other possibilities, a proposed action in this direction is given by the creation of Conservation Units (CU) for inclusion in the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educa‑tional, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
