After recalling the frequenting and settlement by the Phenicians of the south of the Iberian peninsula along with the first Greek commercial presence by the end of the vii c., the point will be to analyze the settlement of the Phoceans in the north-eastern part of the sea-front, relying on a study of the settlements of Emporion and Rhodé, the only Greek sites known to-day. The point will also be to analyze the contacts formed by the Greeks with the Iberian societies of the near-by hinterland of the colonies, but also of the whole Mediterranean sea-front of the peninsula.
