The present study aimed to investigate the psychosocial consequences associated with the early onset of alcohol consumption in adolescence in adults who have abused alcoholic beverages. Two men older than 18 years of age, linked to the group of alcoholics of the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS) of a municipality of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, participated in the study. The research was based on the qualitative approach From case studies. To obtain the data, a sociodemographic questionnaire and semi-structured interview were used. With this study it was understood that the family was shown to be the main influencer of the early consumption, and this onset may have influenced the participants to abuse alcohol in adulthood. In addition, it has caused damages throughout its development, as affective ties impaired with its relatives and labor difficulties. Finally, CAPS proved to be an important ally in the treatment of these individuals, helping to reestablish links with their relatives and provide a judgment-free environment.
