STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT BASED ON BALANCED SCORECARD: FROM THINKING TO ACTION

Worldwide economic development and competitiveness in the market have push enterprises to find effective management methods which help focus strategic management into daily working activities. The balanced scorecard is an effective approach of strategic management in organizations and business enterprises; however it is not widely adopted in companies in Vietnam. This paper aims to assess the possibility of applying the balanced scorecard going from vision to awareness, from knowledge to action plan towardsimplementation of strategic management. The results of data analysis which was collected from the survey of 21 companies show that leaders have vision of innovation and cognitive of balanced scorecard; however, their knowledge of strategic management and implementation of balanced scorecard was limited. The staff is not aware of the urgent need of using balanced scorecard for a better change; however, they are able to carry out an action plan for implementing balanced scorecard. The strategy was not well built and implemented professionally using appropriate methods and procedures. Therefore, companies need to renew management and business models, to develop good strategies, to build wining plans, to enhance organizational competence and management systems.
