Research on Belgrade by Vojislav S. Radovanović in the Context of its Contemporary Role in Geospace

Abstract

Academician Vojislav Radovanović, in his studies of territorial development of Belgrade, used a scientific approach to originally interrelate the basic elements of geographic location. V. Radovanović treated geographical position of Belgrade as an important geo-strategic, economic and cultural factor, which continuously influenced territorial development of the city during different historical cycles. Detailed analysis of different socio-historical circumstances, presented by V. Radovanović, is of great scientific importance for the understanding of future trends and perspectives of spatial development of Belgrade and Serbia as a whole.
