COASTAL GEOMORPHOLOGY, HYDROGRAPHIC BASIN AND AGRICULTURE: GEOGRAPHY IN THE WORK OF ARACY LOSANO FONTES

Abstract

The present work aims to present the trajectory of Professor Aracy Losano Fontes and their main contributions to the Geography of the State of Sergipe. For this, bibliographical surveys were carried out in the CNPq / CAPES database and in the Postgraduate Program in Geography of the Federal University of Sergipe. Contact was also maintained with ex-orientandos for testimonials and obtaining data about the honoree and an informal interview with the teacher to rescue the unregistered memory, confirming some data and information previously collected. Graduated in Geography and Bachelor from the Federal University of Sergipe, she promoted her academic studies in Geomorphology by the Federal University of Bahia and PhD in Geography by Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho - UNESP - Rio Claro. The name Aracy Losano Fontes saves a rich content and life story in many contexts. In the family sphere, the wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and in the academic and professional, the teacher, the geomorphologist, the geographer, the researcher, the consultant and the counselor. All these roles are anchored in a dignified and generous human being, and the brilliant geographer. With great merit, Dr. Aracy Losano Fontes occupies the gallery of honor of the Sergipe geography, not only for its sustained and continuous technical-scientific production, but for the orientations, emotional intelligence, shrewd posture, and also for opening paths in consultancies.
