The Condition of Churches in Granada in the Mid XVIII Century According to a Juan José Fernández Bravo´s Report
Abstract
The 1753 Concordat shows the ambitions of the crown of Ferdinand VI and the papacy of Benedict XIV. It studies the condition of parochial architectural heritage of Granada in the mid XVIII century. To this end, the monarch commissioned a report to determine the state of the parish churches in order to keep practicing the Royal Board with greater information of their condition. Documentation, a Juan José Fernández Bravo´s report, was found in the National Historical Archive. This work finishes analyzing the effects of the Lisbon earthquake.
