Stratégies et enjeux de la localisation d’espaces de travail temporaires dans six grandes gares françaises
Abstract
This article focuses on the development of temporary workspaces inside six French railway city stations. These spaces, built through a partnership between a real estate office manager (Regus) and rail sector stakeholders (Gares & Connexions, SNCF), are heralded as third places for mobile professionals. The paper analyses the approach of these stakeholders in view of what third-place workspaces are. It links the evolution of third places with the issues surrounding the mobility of professionals and discusses the presentation of such workspaces as third places, analyzing jointly the rationale of the two stakeholders and the potential customers and uses of this new offer.
