Abstract

Caricature, advertising poster, leaflet, comic strip … all communications in which we can only observe a reduction in signs in terms of their expression, while offering reading paths that are as open as they are varied. Some would say that this is certainly a response to the demands placed on this type of communication. Which, clearly, are meant to be as brief as possible so that they can be read quickly, almost imposing themselves on reading. However, this (these) answer (s) cannot suffice for the semiotician whose task is, precisely, to work under the signs in order to provide elements of answers to what, at the surface level (at the discursive level) can seem to be obvious. Also, in this article, we propose to seek for explanations able to enlighten us on the semiotic functioning of this type of communication, beyond the superficial reasons given in the previous statements
