Highlights 1. CDKN2B-AS1 was upregulated in DN and high glucose-induced HPCs and HK-2 cells. 2. Inhibition of CDKN2B-AS1 alleviated high glucose-induced apoptosis and fibrosis of HPCs and HK-2 cells. 3. CDKN2B-AS1 regulated NOTCH2 expression via acting as a miR-98-5p sponge.
