According to Professor Mieczysław Łobocki, the first head of the Department of Educational Theory at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, education should be aimed at supporting pupils in their development, respecting their personal dignity, addressing their emotions and needs, and ensuring their right to freedom and taking responsibility for their actions. Research Aim: This is a review article showing how Professor Mieczysław Łobocki’s theory of education is developed on the 50th anniversary of the Department of Educationa Theory in the research work of its current employees.
