DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17227/01234870.38folios15.34 This article briefly deals with the epistemological and methodological production of Hugo Zemelman, a Chilean sociologist based in Mexico. It will review the central categories of a production of several decades and writings, ensuring that the important time which runs from the opening of the investigation to the close is highlighted, a duration in which the construction of the object of study is played with and the generation of problematic fields as a multiplicity of possible problems to choose from.
