Solving arithmetic problems in the classroom, turns often to the student in a negative element of learning, when oriented towards the mechanical practice of naming the operation, do it and give an answer, without a process of analysis and reflection, made of great importance in the intellectual development of the individual. From this perspective, after conducting a pilot test alternative eat is raised to improve the ability to solve arithmetic problems in students, the method of Espinosa and Cerdan (1988, 25), through the application of its different phases. At the conclusion of this research it is concluded that the model allows a favorable change in school Students at solving arithmetic problems.
