The mathematic model of the metal pushed V- belt continuously variable transmission is established,and the influence of CVT speed ratio variation on the vehicle acceleration is analyzed and simulated through the example. The research result proves that the changing rate of the speed ratio affects on the vehicle acceleration to a certain extent. As the result,the changing rate of the speed ratio should be controlled according to the direction of the changing. Through the research,the theoretical foundation and method are provided for the control strategy of the CVT speed ratio changing rate.
