Prensa y represión. La Nueva Provincia y la corporación militar en la persecución ideológica a la comunidad universitaria (Bahía Blanca, 1974-1976)

Abstract

In order to analyze the way in which La Nueva Provincia became a political actor that was part of the repressive plot and expressed its demands and criticisms to the military corporation, this article reconstructs the editorial positions of the newspaper on how the Armed Forces should intervene in relation to "subversion", placing special emphasis on the diagnoses and lines of action proposed by the newspaper on the issue of "ideological infiltration" at the Universidad Nacional del Sur. In the first place, the newspaper's position on the definition of the "subversive enemy" and the forms of "struggle" that should be used against it will be addressed. Secondly, ways of conceptualizing militant practices and repressive strategies developed within the Universidad Nacional del Sur as a target / laboratory in which proposed to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of the total war against "subversion" will be analyzed.
