The object of this research study is the Educational Practice for teachers from the nursing graduation courseof the Center of Health Sciences at the Federal University of Paraiba (Brazil). Teaching approaches proposed in Libaneo’sclassification (2003) and their use in the process of qualification of nursing workforce are discussed. The empirical materialwas obtained by means of half-structured interviews and analyzed through the technique of Speech Analysis, proposal byFiorin (1990). This process resulted in the construction of the empirical category: Oriented teaching and content emphasisin the process of qualification of nursing workforce, and the realization that the qualification process is supported by thetraditional teaching approach, being, therefore, in disagreement with current health and education policies.
