MICROFINANCE IN ARMENIA

Abstract

This article reveals the current state of microfinance services and microfinance institutions (MFIs) in the Republic of Armenia, through a careful analysis of theirperformance and statistics. The articleexamines the process of the formationof micro crediting in Armenia after thecollapse of the Soviet Union, as well asstudying the current conditions for gettingmicro credits. To achieve the above objectives, there are considered the features of the Armenian MFIs and important aspects of their activities, including regulation.The article also discusses a new method of online microfinance and the results of implementing the latter in Armenia.
