Abstract

The convention concerning the exchange og Greek and Turkish populations was signed at Laussanne on 30 January 1923 between the governments of Greece and Turkey and was included in the peace treaty of Laussanne concluded on January 30, 1923. İn accordance with the covertion, half a million Turks migrants settled in Canakkale came mostly from Thessalonikii Crete, Lemnos and Lesbos. Their numbers, profession, the date of their arrival and the problems they encounteed were recorded on the migration registers.
