In this article, the expletives are approached from a contrastive-linguistic perspective. Curse, malediction and abuse are expletives. They are expressions of human aggression. These terms are part of everyday life. There is swearing and cursing all over the world, but in any language, there are other uses. Every person who lives no matter where and how he knows this feeling and the expression of this feeling he learned in his cultural circle. As terms of two different cultures, curse and malediction are examined in this article. These examples from Turkish and German are compared in order to obtain an image in the cultural debate.
