REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND LABOUR MARKET PROBLEMS OF RURAL AREAS IN SERBIA
Abstract
This paper analysis is dedicated to the role and importance of labor as a common development driving force – especially in the rural regions. In that context, the different theoretical regional economic development models were analyzed, as well as the most important rural regions competitive factors among which the new rural economy activities employment growth is placed. In order to get the better evidence of the rural regions labor market condition in Serbia (which is the central part of this paper analysis) the overview of the National employment strategy and the regional labor markets analysis were made. The complementary labour market indicators in rural areas of Serbia, not included in the actual employment strategy definition, were emphasized. As the obligatory, those indicators are widely used within the rural labour market indicators implementation in the united Europe. This set of indicators is not based only on the labour market conditions identification. Furthermore, indicators are based on the local employment perspectives projections. The necessity of determined indicators review arises specially in the condition of restricted labour mobility.
