ÎNTRE UTOPIE, MONUMENTAL ȘI DESTIN INDIVIDUAL ÎN CULTURA ROMÂNĂ DUPĂ MAREA UNIRE. CAZUL LUI G. CĂLINESCU
Abstract
This paper discusses the idea of the monumental as a central concept of the G. Călinescu’s vision about politics and humanist urbanism in Romania, both in the interwar period, when Călinescu was a prominent member of the generation of intellectuals formed in Romania after 1918, and in the era of the Socialist régime, when he was one of the leaders promoting the reconstruction of the Romanian culture distorted by the official Communist ideology.
