Design and Simulation Analysis of Short Circuit Protection for Electric Ship DC Grid-connected System

DC grid-connection technology is the core technology of electric ship. For a ship DC grid-connected distribution system, when short-circuit occurs in a branch of the system, the short-circuit branch needs to be cut off, and the other branches can be retained and work normally. To ensure the selectivity of protection action of short-circuit protection fuse, it is necessary to calculate the short-circuit current value of all DC grid-connected branches and the fusing capacity of the fuse when the branch is short-circuit, so as to guide the design and type selection of the fuse. Based on Matlab/Simulink 2016a simulation software, an equivalent simulation model of main circuit of electric ship DC grid-connected distribution system is built, and the system short-circuit current and fuse capacity are calculated. It is verified that the design of short-circuit protection circuit of the system is reasonable and it can avoid the risk of power loss of whole ship.
