Cultivation attempt of Datura innoxia in Burkina Faso : hyoscyne and hyoscyamine content evolution during plant development. This paper presents the basic principles for an exploitation of Datura innoxia in the hyoscyne and hyoscyamine alkaloids production (medicinal use : anticholinergic). A tentative of cultivation is described with emphasis upon the plant phenology, the ponderal evolution of each organ and the evolution of the alkaloid content and production, all this accounting of the plants different levels of ramification. The most propitious conditions for the harvesting and the fertilization (50 kg/ha of N, 37 kg/ha of P, 418 kg/ha of K) are proposed in the view of a maximal production of fruit, the only organs containing alkaloids in respectable amounts (about 0, 35 % of hyoscyne and 0, 10 % of hyoscyamine).
