AUTOPERCEPÇÃO DE COMPETÊNCIA PROFISSIONAL DOS ACADÊMICOS DE LICENCIATURA EM EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA DO IFCE CANINDÉ - CE
Abstract
This study aims to assess the self-perception of graduates in Physical Education, from IFCE Caninde (CE), about their professional competence. The study included 33 graduating enrolled for the first semester of 2013, assessed by Self-perception of Professional Competence Scale, plus the analysis of teaching expertise. For data analysis, the results were grouped into conceptual, procedures (techniques) and attitudinal dimensions and evaluated according assumptions by Nascimento (1999). The results showed that 27 (81.8%) students have a positive self-perception of their professional competence. All dimensions of the contents were scored positively, although the conceptual dimension has presented a lower score. The majority of graduates (90.9%) reported to have teaching experience, being predominant in males (60.6%). This experience was characterized by participation in various projects (72.7%), activities in school (36.4%) and other interventions (30.3%). These findings could have been motivated by several interventions in the course of their academic background in teaching, research and extension activities, although it perceives also the need to strengthen the formative academic practice in their concepts and meanings.
