Tips for Working with Nurses from Different Generations

The concept of belt was created by the idea that people who come to the world in certain time periods are affected by similar environmental conditions and events and have some common characteristics. In general it has been reported that the Veteran belt consists of people born from 1925-1945, Baby Boomers from 1946-1960, X from 1961-1980, and Y from 1981. It is necessary for nurses to benefit from the differences and similarities of the nurses in order to have knowledge about generations, to raise awareness, to build a team to direct the nursing staff responsible for the management of the institution for the purposes of the institution, to acquire the institution and the nurses attached to the profession and to bring the patient care to the highest level. In this review, the general characteristics of the generations have been addressed and some tips which will facilitate the working life have been mentioned.
