Abstract: This study aims to analyze men's perceptions of women drivers and their participation on the road. As we try to identify the factors that influence men's perceptions of sharing the road, the number of women drivers, especially for lightweight cars, has increased significantly in recent years, reflecting the extent of the transformations experienced by Algerian society and the family, knowing that the latter rejected the idea of women drivers, as driving was for decades restricted to men only, as if driving had a gender. Women have since worked to prove their competence in driving a car and holding the steering wheel like men. Therefore, in this study, we look forward to knowing the extent of Algerian society’s acceptance of women drivers from the man’s perception of her, In our sociological analysis, we rely on the qualitative approach. Keywords: Women drivers; social representations; driving; the highway; Algerian society.
