Wang and colleagues report a high quality draft genome for the thin-necked bladder worm, an agricultural livestock parasitic pest. Using this draft genome and comparison with other related parasites, they reveal gene families that are selectively pressured in different species, indicative of specialised survival strategies for different hosts.
