La construction rythmique de l’incontournable touristique. L’exemple de la tour Eiffel
Abstract
At first laughed at and looked down upon, the Eiffel Tower quickly established itself in the collective Parisian, French and even world imagination as an inescapable tourist attraction. How did a place built for the World Fair of 1889 become a landmark of tourism, the symbol of Paris and of France? We put forward the hypothesis that this change in the Tower’s status is linked to the growing importance of pace in the venue’s tourist activity.
