Stockdale et al. assess longitudinal faecal virome changes in a rat model of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) in which either monomeric or preformed fibrils (PFF) of α-synuclein were administered directly into their enteric nervous system. They demonstrate that virome alterations are potentially reactive to host α-synuclein changes that are associated with PD development.
