Evidence-based clinical guide for the management of peripheral vascular occlusion with hyaluronic acid, report of 6 successful cases
Abstract
Aim and objectives: There has been a growth of more than 300% between 2000 and 2017 in aesthetic procedures with fillers, with an incidence of ocular complications in more than 130%, causing devastating outcomes for the patient. The use of Hyaluronidase, indications and limitations of this drug is evolving. This article will provide a guideline management of peripheral vascular occlusion based on 8215 patients and 6 peripheral vascular occlusions, following strict guidelines based on current evidence. Materials and methods: A search were made based on Beast Bet Methodology selecting the relevant articles according to the keywords. Conclusion: To date there is no guidance in the literature for the use, dosage, limitations and effect of hyaluronidase. More studies in humans are required to evaluate the real action of hyaluronidase against vascular occlusion due to filler.
