First person – Jiří Funda

Abstract

First Person is a series of interviews with the first authors of a selection of papers published in Disease Models & Mechanisms, helping early-career researchers promote themselves alongside their papers. Jiří Funda is first author on ‘ Adipose tissue-specific ablation of PGC-1β impairs thermogenesis in brown fat’, published in DMM. Jiří is a PhD student in the lab of Martin Rossmeisl at The Institute of Physiology, Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic, investigating adipose tissue energy metabolism and its modulation by pathological conditions such as obesity.
