The paper presents some aspects of the problem of finding the psychological mechanisms of the integration of children with mental retardation in the general education environment during their transition from primary to primary school, is considered one of the most important mental structures of children 10-11 years - the psychological readiness to learn in elementary school as a factor required for such integration.
