Obtención de derechos civiles y políticos para mujeres en Paraguay durante la dictadura de Alfredo Stroessner
Abstract
One of the last countries in Latin America to recognize civil and political rights for women was Paraguay. Despite the efforts made by feminist organizations since the beginning of the 20th century, it was not until the 1950s and 1960s that changes for equality were made at the legislative level, a period that coincided with the beginning and consolidation of the civil and military dictatorship of Alfredo Stroessner (1954-1989). This article analyzes the factors that made it possible for women to obtain rights in an authoritarian context.
