Clinico-social and pathopsychological risk factors of nosocomial aggression in various categories of patients
Abstract
In the present study, we for the first time reveal risk factors for nosocomial aggression in different categories of the psychiatric patients, depending on the nosology and gender. We analyzed data on 275 patients who committed socially dangerous acts, declared insane and sent to inpatient involuntary treatment. We highlighted the general socio-demographic and psychological factors of nosocomial aggression in male psychiatric patients regardless of nosology. We identified the risk factors for nosocomial aggression in patients with schizophrenia and organic mental disorder depending on gender. We differentiate the risk factors of regime requirements violations in the first six months of compulsory treatment and throughout the hospital treatment. The controlling and accounting of all the risk factors of nosocomial aggression can lead to increased levels of safety and reduce the incidence of aggression.
