Coagulation factor ⅩⅢ (FⅩⅢ) is a member of the plasma transglutaminase family.Plasma FⅩⅢ (pFⅩⅢ)consists of two catalytic A subunits and two non-catalytic B subunits(FⅩⅢ-A2B2)combined with non-covalent bonds to form a heterotetramer. The cellular FⅩⅢ(cFⅩⅢ) exists in a form of A subunit homodimer(FⅩⅢ-A2).Although it is currently believed that cellular FⅩⅢ can be internalized and externalized from the cell through an unknown mechanism and cross-linked extracellular substrates to function in a variety of pathophysiological events, its specific functions and mechanisms need to be clarified by further systematic research.
