THE HAPPINESS MOTIVE IN IRINA ODOEVTSEVA’S STORIES

The aim of the article is to detect the features of the plot and figurative embodiment the motive of happiness in the stories by Irina Odoevtseva. Methodology. The author analyzes the early emigrant writer`s stories. The connection identified of the life experience of the writer and the characters created by her is revealed. The study identifies several types of motive: lost happiness, false happiness, sacrificial happiness. Comparative historical, biogeographic and hermeneutical methods and used. Results. At the end of the article the conclusion is that is stated that this motive stemmed from separation of the characters and author departure from Russia, that this motive plays a plot-forming role, is the leitmotif in the early prose by Irina Odoevtseva. Research implications. The article is addressed to all interested in literature of the Russian foreign countries.
