The hydrogen consumption and driving range of fuel cell vehicles are key indicators for evaluating their performance. The existing testing standards mainly suffer from key issues such as cumbersome testing procedures, low testing efficiency, and incomplete calculation methods. This article proposes a rapid evaluation method for hydrogen consumption and driving range of B-class fuel cell vehicles. This method does not require the test vehicle to be fully charged with hydrogen before the experiment but only requires the test vehicle to meet 2 cycles of pure electric driving and 7 cycles of hydrogen electric hybrid driving. Different evaluation methods were used to conduct comparative experiments on 6 vehicles. The experimental results show that after simplifying the experimental process, excluding the time and cost of preparation work before the experiment, the rapid method is only one-third of the running method during the experimental process, and the net experimental time is significantly reduced. In addition, the rapid evaluation method has a range of 2.25% to 5.31% in hydrogen consumption per 100 km compared to the standard method, with an average increase of 3.89%. The range of variation in driving range is 7.26% to 9.51%, with an average increase of 8.65%.
