DMITRY KITSENKO. TWO PIECES OF THE RECENT YEARS FOR STRING ORCHESTRA: POETICS OF „MUSIC FOR DAY AND NIGHT"
Abstract
This article is dedicated to the creation of Dmitry Kitsenko for string orchestra and presents the analysis of the two pieces of four that have appeared in recent years. These two miniatures have titles, each representing a programmatic idea: Diatonic Fantasy and Lux Aeterna (the last one also has an epigraph based on K. Sluchevsky’s homonymous poetry). Both miniatures also are made in an audiovisual form and deal with a theme of „day and night music” that unites them as a kind of diptych of audiovisual pictures. In aspects of genre and general concept, the author proposes both her own ideas and composer’s views. The analysis of the image conception is accompanied by the investigation of methods of the musical-dramaturgical development
