In this article, we wish to introduce the research we are currently conducting on a parallel corpus of information books for children, translated from French into Italian. After defining this genre from both an editorial and an educational perspective, we shall focus on one of the works making up our corpus, La poubelle et le recyclage à petits pas, in order to highlight and discuss the strategies adopted in its Italian translation, La raccolta differenziata a piccoli passi. Building on such preliminary findings, we shall then attempt to advance a few suggestions about the possible developments to be expected from the study of the whole corpus and to outline its future direction.
