Numerical approach for global ship strengths analysis based on 1D-beam model, under oblique equivalent quasi-static wave loads

This paper focuses on a new iterative approach for global ship strengths analysis, based on equivalent hull structure 1D-beam model, under oblique quasi-static wave design loads. As testing case, a maritime barge with a total length of 97m is considered. The barge has a prismatic rectangular hull shape and uniform mass distribution. The analyses are based on a non-linear iterative algorithm, implemented in own program code P_QSW. The results point out the maximum wave-induced loads into the ship's girder, which are assessed by statistical rule-based design values.
